My service area is within a 20 minute radius of zip code 23231. I can see clients outside of this service area on a limited basis; please contact me for availability. A travel fee of $20.00 may be applied.
For a first session, please make sure that your dog is in a crate or in another room behind a door or baby gate prior to my arrival. We'll discuss the best way to let your dog meet me before actually letting them meet me. This is important for my safety, your dog’s comfort, and the efficacy of the session. If you have any questions about what to do with your dog before our first session, please do not hesitate to reach out.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please email me 24 hours in advance of your appointment time. Appointments that are canceled with less than 24 hours notice will be subject to a cancellation fee of $50. If you miss an appointment without contacting me, the full fee of the appointment will be charged.
Payment may be made by cash, check or Venmo (CanineCommunicationRVA @CCRVA). Please note that returned checks will be charged a $35 fee. If you are paying via Venmo, payments must be submitted 24 hours prior to our scheduled session.
I will send a short questionnaire and waiver for you to fill out before to our first session. Please take time to read both and let me know if you have any questions about anything at all. Please be thorough when answering the questionnaire. There's no such thing as too much information!
I will make every reasonable effort to help you achieve training and behavior modification goals but I cannot make any guarantee of the dog's performance or behavior as a result of providing professional animal behavior training. For optimal results, I ask that clients and members of the household follow management and training instructions as given, work with your dog daily as recommended, and consistently use positive reinforcement during training.
