About Lesley Gurule, CPDT-KSA

After volunteering with a rescue for almost ten years in Brooklyn, NY, I began my dog training adventures as an apprentice with Amanda Gagnon Dog Training NYC. I then completed my certification as a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Knowledge Assessed as well as the next level of certification, Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Knowledge and Skills Assessed. After moving to Richmond, VA, I worked as a trainer and instructor with the Richmond Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and Richmond Animal League, and began my own training company. I’m working towards my Behavior Consulting certification and am training in the Behavior Consulting Mentorship Program with Pet Harmony Training, as well as mentoring new students in the program.

I’m an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator, a member of the Pet Professionals Guild, and a supporting member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. I’m a continuing education nerd and loves all things shelter and rescue. I have a soft spot for puppy socialization and education, and love helping people have the best relationship possible with their dogs.

I share my home with two Brooklyn rescue cats, Chet and Albee, and a Richmond shelter dog, Tammy.
